winchester 94

I inherited a model 94 with the markings on the bottom of a backwards DJFTF72. The D is the only one thats backwars & the T is different than the other letters. Can anyone define a year from this? Also where can I find the serial number?

Without more info i can only give suggestions.....
If it is a top eject model, the s/n is below the bottom of the frame just under the load tube. Early AE versions , over s/n 5,200,000, in mostly the same place, but newer models, the s/n is sideways on the bottom of the frame near the lower lever area...

Once you find the s/n, plug it into this website: http://www.savage99.com/winchester1894_dates.htm

It's very reliable. I used this site to find that mine was made in 1921

serial no

no 94 were made without serial no. your thinking of 22 rifles before 1968.some single barrel shotguns may have been made without no.but all I have seen are no.
