Mystery maker
Ive recently acquired an under lever style German break open single shot rifle in 9.3x72r and would like to learn about it's origin. Theres no makers name or even chambering stamp, just a an unknown to me mark and some numbers under the forearm. If I were to take pictures, am I in the right place to ask?

A good place to start.
Those unknown marks and numbers are likely proof marks. There MIGHT be a manufacturer's code, maybe. Sometimes. Apparently advertising and brand loyalty were not common in those days in Europe. |

That's a good observation you make. Provided I can figure out how, I'll post some pictures of the only markings on the gun and maybe pick a few brains.

I’d love to see the piece. There are a couple webernet sights that I’ve asked for help before. I’ve never received a quick response, but when I did it was thorough.
Here’s one….https://www.germanhuntingguns.com/ab...dentification/

Could someone explain to me step by step how to post pictures here? I hit the camera icon but it says only to type in the URL. I'm wanting to post pictures I've taken not Internet stock photos and I'm lost.

Since I always struggle with posting pictures, last time someone posted this link I bookmarked it.

Husqvarna
Husqvarna made shotguns with under levers to open the actions. I have a Husqvarna double barrel shotgun with the under lever.
