My new AK build....
A Romanian AKM originally built in 1976. Now it is a US compliant semi auto AKM. It shoots pretty good, though not a competition rifle...

Nice furniture!!!
I have a question. If you made the pistol grip (which I am assuming is one of the US parts) using the same wood, would that be considered a US compliant part since it was made in the USA? Wayne |

Wayne,
Pistol grip is 1 part, Forend stock (upper and lower) 1 part. Buttstock 1 part. My Pistol grip is actually original plastic/bakelite. I did the trigger group (3 parts), piston (1 part), and forend/buttstock (2 parts) to make it compliant. Revo, I have mags, but am waiting for the 75 rd drum... The stocks I did in a Red Oak (three coats) and three coats of quick drying poly.
