New CZ

I just bought a NIB CZ 75BD Police thanks to Servo77. I will post some pics soon and let you know how the first trip to the range goes as soon as I can make it.

The BD or Police model comes with a decocker instead of the manual safety found on the the CZ 75B.

I figured it was a secondary/redundant indicator in case someone pulled the mag after a shoot to warn them the weapon was still "hot"

Well, I mean... How else is the gun going to shoot, right?

Blackwater, I just bought a CZ75 SP01 that has night sights. I can normally take or leave night sights, but in any event, you think that all night sights found on factory CZs are made by Meprolight? They don't say on them. All they say is "Tru Dot".

Also, on the loaded chamber indicator....I kind of like it - I have one on my PCR pistol. But I think it's a little strange that my SP01, although having a slide machined with the little hole in it for putting the loaded chamber indicator, it does not have it. It seems to me that no more than a little piece of steel and a spring cost, that CZ would go ahead and add one step to the manuf. process of installing that and using that as a sales point, but it doesn't bother me - I do like seeing visually before I check by a partial racking, but I do the latter anyway, so I don't really NEED the L.C.I.

Crusty, congrats, man - sounds good!

There's links to pics of my new SP01 here:

Thanks First. Nice gun, your grips are awesome. I probably won't make it to the range until Monday after work. Here are a few pic's.

Right what? Right that we always have time to rack the slide before really really needing because bad guys always give us the chance to do that first? Gee I wonder how well that will go over next time I'm out on patrol and possibly run into that type of situation; "Hold on BG, let me get my duty weapon out of my holster and then let me rack it before you shoot me or do something that would justify my use of deadly force......"

That is a beautiful gun.
I simply have a preference for the manual safety models, but I'd take that one in a heartbeat.

I made it to the range today. I only shot about 60 rounds. Before you tell me only 60 rounds, I know I know thats pretty lame. The target below might not look that good to most of you but for me it's not bad. I know my groups will get better with practice. Thanks to everybody for all your help and support. One more question. How does the gun break down for cleaning. There wasn't any paperwork with the gun to explain that. Thanks again,
Rusty

Unload, remove magazine and all that.

Then pull the hammer back to the half-cock position and slide the slide back until the vertical line on the rear left side of the slide lines up with its corresponding mark on the frame.

When you have it lined up, remove the slide stop by pressing against it on the right side of the frame. The base of a magazine or something else hard and flat is usually helpful for this.

Once the slide stop is removed, the slide and barrel slide forward for removal. The barrel is retained in place by the guide rod and recoil spring in the usual sort of way.

Compare

I'd be happy to know how those with experience would compare the CZ 75BD Police to the XD .45ACP service pistol.

I'm being offered a trade. Thanks in advance.

I think getting 60 rounds into just 5 little holes is a heck of an accomplishment!

CZ or XD? I like both, BUT I LOVE my CZ.

If one had to go, which I hope I won't need to, the XD goes first...even though I like it.
