Wow, my best night ever!
So for some reason tonight was my best pistol night EVER! I was shooting terrific groups and then I managed to do THIS!
Seriously, I didn't think you COULD get a .40 S&W to do this at 50 ft! (or at least I was pretty sure that -I- couldn't get one to do it!) Last edited by ZeSpectre; September 12, 2007 at 11:05 PM. Reason: corrected typo |

Spectre, I've found that most of my guns will out-shoot me. They'll shoot more accurately than allowed by my shooting ability.
Nice having a gun that'll do that, huh?!? And to think that you didn't have to spend thousands for it...... I don't think that the caliber has much to do with it, either. A .40 will shoot like a .45 or a 9, depending on how well you do your part. Looks like you're doing your part. Congrats! |

Nice groups
That was some nice shootin Tex!
I have done things like that from time to time. Everything just clicks and I am convinced that I have finally mastered shooting only to get some wild ones in my next grouping. I guess professionals practice enough that they are constantly in that "zone".

That is indeed impressive. Every now and then I'll have a good target going, then I get a flyer. It's never the guns fault. I know it's off the moment the gun goes off, and it's always my fault. In golf, they refer to a bad putt like that has having the "yips" and invariably blame the putter and go out and buy a new one. Replacing putters is much cheaper than replacing nice firearms.

Man you must've been in the ZONE. Sometimes I can put 2 or three shots on top of each other but after a few I start over thinking it and messing up.

One day I went to the range, hung a target at 50', and loaded up. The very first shot was the most perfect bullseye imaginable (used a shoot&see). I brought the target back in, looked at my buddy next to me and told him I was leaving. When he asked why I showed him the target and told him I was going to tell my wife; "I decided to only shoot one bullet today, and here it is".

Dang, I'm thinking more and more often that I need a CZ.
Not that I would be likely to get THAT group at 50 feet even with the best of all CZ's. |

Just after I bought a CZ 75B, I thought I shot it pretty well. Then my buddy, a military armorer who shot a lot, proceeded to put 10 shots into a large, single hole. Yup, the gun had much more capability than I do.
