Got a doe with my Sig

I was thrilled to shoot a ~110 pound doe tonight after work with my Sig Revolution compact C3 - She was hit in right front shoulder at 50 yards - Bullet broke right leg went through lower chest and exited breaking left leg also - She dropped on the spot - Had to use final head shot also to dispatch - I was very impressed with the HS 230 gn bullet performance - Just thought I would share my success - The gun works wonderfully.

I guess I been asleep at the wheel. What is a Sig Revolution compact c3? I have heard of a knight revolution muzzle loader before but not a sig.

Nice.

Who needs a big revolver to hunt with a handgun?

Ya know, I often wondered how effective a 45 ACP would be on deer. What type of bullet/ammo were you using?

It was the federal 230 grain hydrashock - Bullet penetrated right front shoulder, clipped the lung, exited the chest and shattered the front left leg, dropping her on the spot. I used a head shot to finish her which also worked great.

BIGR

I imagine by now you realized I am talking about a handgun, not a muzzleloader.

That's the same round I use when I carry a .45 for self-defense. Nice to see it works!

Is that legal in NY?

Not a hunter but I am pretty sure that it is illegal in VA.

Absolutely, Why would you think it is not legal to hunt with a handgun?

Yes after I read a few post about the 230 GR bullets I figured it had to be the pistol.
