Ruger SR9..any owners out there?

Any owners out there (not review junkies) care to share anything?

I understand it may not be as good as a glock or another high end pistol, but its in my price range and that is most important.

thanks.

A worthy pistol for the price. The trigger was suspect to me when dry fired but performed better in live fire exercises than expected. If you like it, I see no reason not to give it a try!

I owned this SR9 for about six months and eventually sold it to a friend who just could not live without it. I found it to be a solid, reliable, accurate, and overall excellent shooter and carry piece. I sold it because of my friend and found no fault with the SR9.

Unlike some I found the trigger system on the gun to be more than just acceptable and actually liked it a lot. I recommend it highly.

Got one and love it. It gets better every time I fire it.

I have a bit over 1,000 rounds through mine of the winchester, brown bear, American eagle and blazer ammo, eats them all up without a problem. Like dairycreek said the trigger was better than I thought it would be with all the people out there who have said it was bad. I was more suprised with the accuracy of mine quite accurate and I am not a great shooter. My only gripe would be the small slide release and safety although the safety is loosening up in its movement more. Worth the price to me and best of all ruger is an american co.

I have one and love it. Mine was a recalled model and I sent it in. The new trigger is super smooth, predictable and consistent. I like the way the SR9 feels ergonomically; it is balanced, smooth and accurate. The only criticism I have of it is that it is striker fired and I prefer a DA/SA hammer fired pistol. Other than that it is a great pistol and I have been plesantly suprised with it.

Had my SR-9 about 6 months and have put around 600 rounds through it with no problems. I like my SR-9, solid performer!

Love mine!! Excellent weapon.

Whatever I feed it (range ammo, cheap crap, Federal 9PBLE +P+),
it's just like the Energizer Bunny - keeps on going & going.

I'm still looking for a good holster for it though.

Have it & LOVE it !

I have the Black on Black SR9 & love it - Reliable with every ammo I have tried - never a misfire or failure to eject. I don't understand those who have a problem with trigger - mine is great both before and after the factory "fix"

I like the striker fire (no hammer to think about) and ambidextrous safety.

I'd recommend it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love it!

Had my SR9 now for 8 months, about 1,000 rounds throught it and no problems whatsoever! No jams, misfires, nada...trigger was stiff at first but loosened up with use. Cannot recommend this gun enough..just wish Ruger made an SR in a 40 or 45!

I've put well over 1000 rounds through mine so far and absolutely love it. I don't have any issues with the trigger pull at all, feels fine to me. When I bought this gun, I tried the feel of the Glock 17 also and just liked the SR9 much better (plus it was about a hundred bucks cheaper). It's fired all brands of ammo I've thrown at it so far and also shoots my reloads flawlessly. I can find no fault with it and am glad I bought it.

For the price it's a good gun. Have about 2500 rounds through mine with no issues. Had a few failure to resets from limp wristing. The SR9 needs a firm grip. But it carries well, points well etc.. Used it in my first IDPA match (noobie night) and took first by a long shot.

I'm glad there are some good reports out there. I was quoted $380 for one with law enforcement discount. I think I like the OD green one so I may go ahead and pick one up soon.

spoke to two guys at the range with SR9's and they said they were real happy with theirs. I fired one and it felt nice and shot well. IM not sure why some consider them bad guns. Seems like a nice gun.

There was a bad string of QC problems with SR9's... I imagine they've worked through them with the SR9c. Oh and for those that don't know, the new SR9's will have the new trigger that comes in the SR9c.
