Yes.
Actually, I haven't taken delivery of my HK yet, but I suspect it will be hard to pick a favorite. |

I own and like examples of each, but I tend to favor Glock by a slight margin.

All make great pistols in .45ACP, what's not to like? That said, I really could not pick a favorite until I try/buy the new stainless steel SIG P220, the Glock 30, and a HK USP 45 Expert.
My opinion of what are the companies priorities (in order) in pistol design are as follows: SIG = Reliability, Accuracy, Refined Ergonomics and Build Quality Glock = Reliabilty, Durability, Accuracy, Simplicity and Value H&K = Reliability, Accuracy, Durabilty, Advanced Design and Flexibility JJCII |

I like H&ks and sigs, but which one would depend on which caliber. In 9mm I like the sig 239 but in 40 I would prefer the USP compact, 45 well, that's a tough one.....

Gotta say HK.
Glocks are cool but I like DA/SA better. Sigs are good guns but if you break it down, its not worth the money. Why? First of all, the finish on Sigs is not that great. The barrel is blued like a cheapy, nothing fancy. The way the slide is made is sheet metal, mandrel bent to a U to form the slide. The mags can literally cut a round in half. I know it shoots and feels great but for that price, is that what you want? Just my opinion |

Want to add a thought.
Choosing between the HK, Sig, and Glock is like choosing amongst a few good sports cars. I see from other posts that these three brands get bashed like anything. I guess it all depends on your luck with it. Take the Hk for an example. Some had problems with the firing pin breaking while I got no problems with mines at all. Glock KBs? Has happened but will it happen to you? Dont know. Sigs? Some swear by it while some swear at it. (my friend for instance had his Sig 226 rusting on him and then later a frame crack) So maybe it all depends on the companies customer support and your luck with them as well. Some may get great customer care while others with neglect. Kinda like cars,.. Take me for example with cars. I got the worst luck possible. Bought a brand new Toyota Supra TT, a week later, faulty hood latch, doing 80 on freeway when hood flew open, smashed into winshield (the hood, not me) and ripped off. Sued..and settled. Got a brand new Mitsubishi 3000GT tt after that. POS. Recalls on electical, and transmission. Unhappy with the service. Sold that POS in less than half a year. Then I got a brand new Nissan 300zx twin turbo. Cool car, fast, sweet... then a turbo blew out. Went back for warranty. After that, everything went wrong. EFI leak, went back. Dumb people there fixed it witht he wrong injectors. Went back again. Fixed it. They even offered a free tune up. Cool huh, but.. they forgot to tighten my oil nut. Leaked all the oil out on my way home. Engine froze up a block away from home. Gave the car back to them. Still sueing them as we speak. Then I bought a Prelude. Great car. Reliable, ok power, cheaper too. Loved it. 3 mos later, totaled by a drunk driver. Sueing as we speak. What do I drive now? Nothing. College continues in a few days, two unsettled cases, and no car. Sorry for it being long but moral of the story, choosing between top brands with good/bad outcomes boils down to your luck. I apologize if this was long because I guess I just needed to vent out fustration as well. Sorry. (just don;t get me started with my worst of luck buying a DVD player) |

SIGs for me, second Hks. Glocks grip angles just don't work for me which is why it's last.

I bought an Apex DVD model 500A and love it. I bought my father an Apex 500B and it skipped right out of the box. That dont mean the 500B is junk. Just luck of the draw. Your point is very well made.
P.S. I favor the sigs Tim : ) |

IMO, the fine line of Sig-Sauer pistols is the very best followed by the USP45 full size. Glocks wouldn't be part of my "favorites" list. Best, J. Parker

You know I have owned all 3 makes. I had a stainless USP 9mm full size and a P220 in blue. I currently own a G19, a G21 and a G31. All are/were excellant firearms.
The USP functioned flawlessly but I didn't like the trigger and it recoiled more than the G19. I disliked the DA first shot on the P220 (the first round was always pulled to the right with the subsequent shots making a nice little group where they were supposed to) but the grip fit me like a glove. I must say that I do regret getting rid of it and I do intend to get a replacement in the future. Lastly, my Glocks. I wish that I could get the grip from my P220 on my Glocks. Or perhaps the trigger from my Glocks on a P220. I have heard it said that many do not like the trigger on a Glock. I have found that I actually prefer it. I do admit that I have tinkered with it by reshaping the trigger safety to be rounded instead of straight. All of them are excellant guns which should give their owners piece of mind when it comes to their protection. You should find which has the best features to suite you. That said, when I sleep, my G31 lies waiting should I need it and I sleep very comfortably knowing that. Peace friends, Blev |
